This play contains explicit language as well as mature content and themes.
Rose, a shy general store clerk whose life centers around reveries and daydreams, lives in a dreary Philadelphia apartment. Into her life saunters Cliff, a hard working, rough and witty truck driver who is just as starved for love as she is.
“Sometimes, we need a play that reminds us all how desperate, lonely, and fragile the longing for connection can be when we, for various reasons, find ourselves isolated from society.
This is one of those rare plays that exposes some of the idiosyncratic complexities of what it means to be a human being—an unsettling rendering of two unique yet recognizable types of people who don’t often find their way into dramatic worlds.
And this world drips as a leaky faucet might; a softened yet steady dramaturgical metronome measuring out the awkward and confusing beats of time between these two lost and damaged people.”
